freshman academy policies
LOCKERS: Students will be able to stop at their lockers before first period, before and after lunch, and at the end of the school day. If students arrive late to school (with a blue pass), then they must stop at their locker before coming to class. The teachers will be responsible for enforcing their late policy.
LATE POLICY: Three late arrivals to class is a teacher detention. If students do not show, they will receive a referral and a detention for every late thereafter, within each marking period.
TEACHER DETENTION: The teacher will be responsible for holding their own detention from 2:10 until 2:45. If for some reason the teacher cannot stay after school with the student(s) for detention, the student can serve detention with another teacher on the team with the teacher’s approval.
STUDY HALL: Students must have a pre-signed pass to go anywhere. No agenda=No pass.
Students will have three passes for study hall (per quarter) for their use.
In study hall, students should be completing assignments or reading.
PASSES: Students will receive three passes per quarter, per class-excluding lockers. If the student does go to their locker, then they lose one of their remaining emergency passes.
CELL PHONES: School policy is to send the phone to the office, to be picked up at the end of the day, if it is at all visible. The students do not get a warning before sending their phone to the office. When students are in the hallways, phones and ear buds must be put away as well.
DRINKS: Students may bring a closed water bottle to class, except for labs.
